It all started exactly a decade ago!
But one massively important thing did happen that year – the Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda stepped onto a stage at the White House, in front of the President, and performed a work-in-progress number from his new project entitled The Hamilton Mixtape as part of an evening of poetry, music and spoken word.
Accompanied by Alex Lacamoire, Miranda sang a rough version of the opening number "Alexander Hamilton", taking on the role of Aaron Burr. At the time, no one would know how just how massive Hamilton was going to be (and it took years of intense work by Miranda, Lacamoire and co to reach the award-winning status the musical now holds).
Thankfully the video from that first work-in-progress is available to watch right now!
