The Bush Theatre has announced week-long extensions to its current production of Ayak Akhtar’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play Disgraced, and the forthcoming premiere of Cush Jumbo’s Josephine and I.
Disgraced, which opened to critical acclaim last week, will now run until 29 June, with additional matinees on 12, 19 and 26 June.
The play, which centres on a Muslim-American lawyer who is forced to confront his demons at a dinner party, is directed by Nadia Fall and stars Hari Dhillon and Kirsty Bushell.
Josephine and I opens on 12 July and will now run until 17 August (having originally been booking until 10 August).
The play, which marks acclaimed actress Cush Jumbo’s playwriting debut, is about legendary American entertainer Josephine Baker and her impact on a modern day girl.
Phyllida Lloyd, who recently directed Jumbo in the all-female Julius Caesar at the Donmar, directs.
