First look at Lily James and Richard Madden in Romeo and Juliet

A first look at an image of Lily James and Richard Madden as star-crossed lovers in Romeo and Juliet has been released.

The production, which is part of the Kenneth Branagh season and is directed by Branagh, will run from 12 May to 13 August 2016 at the Garrick Theatre. It also stars veteran actor Derek Jacobi as Mercutio.

Romeo and Juliet is set to follow in the footsteps of The Winter's Tale which will be broadcast live to cinemas across the UK and internationally tonight. Romeo and Juliet is set to broadcast on 7 July 2016.

The Winter’s Tale starring Judi Dench and Harlequinade starring Zoe Wannamaker opened to acclaimed reviews in November.

John Osborne’s The Entertainer, which will be the final production in the Plays at the Garrick season and will also also be broadcast to cinemas in 2016.
