The Chichester production opens in London
After a critical storm of a run at Chichester's Minerva Theatre, Jonathan Munby's production of Shakespeare's tragic King Lear arrives in London's West End this week.
Starring theatre legend Ian McKellen alongside a cast featuring Danny Webb, Sinead Cusack and Kirsty Bushell, the piece is designed by Paul Wills with lighting by Oliver Fenwick, music and sound by Ben Ringham and Max Ringham, movement direction by Lucy Cullingford and fight direction by Kate Waters.
Running for 100 performances, WhatsOnStage critic Max Cooter said in his original five-star review that the production was "surely destined for the London stage".
