Tom Hunter has not had a good time recently – his girlfriend has left him and his two flatmates are constantly arguing. However, one night, Tom starts a chain of events that will change his life forever.
Angered by on-line ‘trolls’, Tom sets himself up as “The Troll Hunter” and tries to spread happiness online. The plan works, giving Tom fame, happiness and a possible romance. But Tom should be aware… The trolls are out there, waiting for him.
Writer Mick Cooper said: “This is obviously a very current topic for a lot of people.
“With so much press recently about online behaviour, trolls and cyber-bullying, I really wanted to write something about not only how these actions affect people, but how and why someone would start doing this in the first place.”
Directed by Chloe Lang, it was work-shopped earlier this year as a part of Studio Salford’s Development Week, and also was selected by ‘The Actors Lab’ (a Manchester-based theatre school run by David Fleeshman and Brookside’s Sue Jenkins) for a script-in-hand performance during the recent Greater Manchester Fringe Festival
Troll (Keyboard Warrior) runs at the King’s Arms in Salford from 10 – 12 September and the 15 September.
