Unlock the door to an undercover world of iconic dance flavours in 2025.
Speakeasy begins in the roaring 1920s – the era of elegance, extravagance and excess, where the Charleston prevailed, and flapper fashions were utterly fabulous. We then waltz into the 1930s; the golden age of cinema with a celebration of legendary ballroom dance icons Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire, with a killer contrast – dancing the dark and dangerous dalliances of Bonnie and Clyde.
This bleeds into the 1940s and the smoky underworld of Burlesque, Cabaret and the pulsating mambos of the Copacabana.
Elvis was King of the 1950s which saw the revolution of rock’n’roll and the jive as well as the iconic Latin moves of the ultimate movie musical, West Side Story. Fosse freedom and beatnik stylings lead the way in the 1960s, with a 1970s climax of the elusive glamour and mirror balls of Studio 54.
