Alex Lawther has just finished leading the new FX/Disney+ series ALIEN:EARTH, directed by Noah Hawley. As well as French director Laurent Slama’s A SECOND LIFE opposite Agathe Rouselle.   

He is best known for his starring role in Charlie Covell’s Channel 4/Netflix BAFTA and Peabody award winning series THE END OF THE F*CKING WORLD, and leading Charlie Brooker’s BLACK MIRROR: SHUT UP AND DANCE. On screen he can also be seen in Disney+ STAR WARS: ANDOR opposite Diego Luna.   

In film he has appeared in Wes Anderson’s THE FRENCH DISPATCH, Ridley Scott’s THE LAST DUEL and Lucile Hadžihalilović’s EARWIG. His film debut was in the Academy-Award winning THE IMITATION GAME, for which he won the 2014 London Critics’ Circle Award for “Young British Performer of the Year.”   

On stage he was in the title role in Robert Icke’s Hamlet (The Armory in New York); Stephen Daldry’s The Jungle (Young Vic, The Playhouse Theatre in the West End and St. Ann’s Warehouse in New York); and his debut in David Hare’s South Downs (Harold Pinter).   

As a filmmaker, his debut short film FOR PEOPLE IN TROUBLE was nominated for a London Critics Circle Award. His second short film RHODA premiered in October 2024 at BFI’s London Film Festival.
