The New Wimbledon Theatre, located on The Broadway in Wimbledon, London, is a Grade II listed Edwardian theatre that opened on December 26, 1910. It was built by theatre lover and entrepreneur J. B. Mulholland, who also owned the King’s Theatre in Hammersmith. Designed by Cecil Aubrey Massey and Roy Young, the theatre originally featured a Victorian-style Turkish bath in the basement. The theatre has hosted numerous notable performances, including the world premieres of Lionel Bart’s “Oliver!” in 1960 and “Half a Sixpence” starring Tommy Steele in 1963.
